Doncaster Sheffield Airport is an aspirational international airport located on a former RAF airfield near Doncaster that has a modest number of commercial air transport movements each year. Doncaster Sheffield Airport is surrounded by a large area of controlled airspace.
Doncaster Sheiffield Airport is currently consulting on its plans for additional controlled airspace to accomodate revised arrival and departure procedures. You can read the detail here.
Of course the BGA does not oppose airspace changes that are risk based, proportionate and do not unreasonably impact on gliding. The BGA will be particularly interested to hear from clubs and pilots who believe their activities will be negatively impacted by the proposed airspace changes.
The consultation ends on 15th December 2017.
