The BGA has reviewed the published launch signalling requirements taking into consideration a recent AAIB recommendation and other developments.
Text proposed by BGA sub-committee and club CFI subject matter experts has been accepted by the Executive Committee. As a result, subject to agreement by member clubs at the next AGM, three existing Operational Regulations regarding signalling will be reduced to one that will state ‘Launch signalling. A reliable and unambiguous signalling system shall be used for all launches’ .
The BGA publication ‘Managing Flying Risk has been amended (dated 6th July 20) to describe updated launch signalling guidance.
