Pilot medical certificates and licences – CAA exemptions update

Following the CAA update of their various COVID19 pilot medical certificates and licences exemptions, the BGA has updated its summary document which is available here.

It is suggested that licence holders who need to revalidate and are meanwhile using an exemption to keep flying, should arrange to revalidate as soon as reasonably possible.

The CAA notes in respect of pilot medical certificates, ‘the CAA is looking at the use of Self-Declaration of Medicals for UK EASA Medical certificate holders at Class 2 and LAPL Medical level, as this would assist commercial pilots in returning to ICAO norms as soon as possible, such Declarations would be restricted to flights within UK airspace, we hope to publish further information shortly.’
