Temporary exemption from the requirement for holders of Part-SFCL SPLs to hold an EASA Part-MED medical certificate when operating EASA aircraft

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in limited access to GP’s and AME’s. The CAA has issued a temporary exemption that provides an alternative to a Class 2 or LAPL medical for those using SPL privileges in the UK. That alternative is the CAA Pilot Medical Declaration (PMD).

Pilots who intend to use the exemption are encouraged to carefully read the detail including exclusions.
