BGA instructor rating and IFP endorsement revalidation and renewal requirement update

Temporary revalidation and renewal requirements for BGA instructor ratings were put in place last winter to mitigate for potential instructor shortages as a result of the Covid restrictions. With club operations getting back to near normal, the Chairman of the Instructing and Examining Committee has recommended that BGA instructor standardisation requirements need to be re-established. It has also been recommended that BGA Basic Instructor (BI) rating and Introductory Flight Pilot (IFP) endorsement requirements should be aligned as far as possible. As a result, updated BGA instructor ratings and IFP endorsement revalidation and renewal requirements have been developed.

As previously communicated to CFI’s, the updated BGA instructor rating and IFP endorsement revalidation and renewal requirements are effective from the 1st October 2021.  The updated requirements apply to any BGA instructor rating or IFP endorsement revalidation or renewal made on or after the 1st October 2021.
