Club Management Conference

The 2018 BGA Club Management Conference will be held on Sunday 28th October.

This event is for Chairs & Managers; CFIs; Treasurers; and Juniors/Junior Gliding activity co-ordinators. As ever a range of topical subjects will be discussed, with the opportunity for networking and idea swapping between clubs. For many this is the true value of the event.

The Juniors Conference this year will spend the majority of time workshopping a framework for Junior Pilot (U26) development. For this reason we are particularly keen to encourage attendance by the people in clubs who spend time supporting and developing juniors and their flying. Please note that conference time will not be given to administration matters, but BGA support staff will be on hand to answer questions and queries during breaks. Ahead of the Juniors conference, we are currently running a survey for Juniors.


We are returning to Highgate House in Northamptonshire (between Northampton and Husbands Bosworth), which is run by the Sundial Group.

As always, we are aiming to provide a useful, thought provoking and helpful day for you, as set out in the conference flyer. The topics are based partly on your requests and areas that we’ve been working on. As well as the important news items and update on safety we will be sharing some of the good practices and initiatives from member clubs and participation groups.

In addition to general sessions there will be more focussed sessions for Chairmen & Club Managers; Treasurers; and CFIs. The parallel Juniors Conference will focus on gliding activities that support and encourage young people in gliding and is aimed at the people who support and run junior specific flying activities in your club.

BGA volunteers, staff and members of the BGA Executive will be attending, giving you an opportunity to talk to them in person about club management matters at your club, or simply to say hello to the faces behind the emails!


Delegate fees are once again held at £20 per person, and include lunch and refreshments throughout the day. You can book your place online or alternatively by submitting a completed booking form to the BGA office.
