BGA Training Standards Manager

We are looking for a Training Standards Manager to maintain high standards of BGA instructor training and support. In particular, the responsibilities include:

  • managing the provision of BGA facilitated training courses to meet the needs of BGA clubs
  • maintaining and developing instructor and flight instructor coach standards and compliance throughout the BGA working with club CFIs
  • developing high quality training resources to support BGA facilitated and BGA club facilitated courses

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have:

  • strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • a BGA full instructor rating
  • flight instructor coaching experience
  • significant soaring experience
  • significant recent experience and awareness of club-based training
  • a full UK driving licence

The role is 50% full time equivalent, home-based, flexible (including some weekend working) and will include the need to travel.

Salary £36,000 pro-rata pa. 25 days holiday pro-rata pa plus bank holidays.

The applicant should be able to start working in the role at the end of August 2022.

The BGA provides the UK’s 78 gliding clubs with flight training standardisation and safety management support which is delivered through a regional and local network of instructors, coaches, and examiners, most of whom are volunteers.
