The 2016 BGA Club Management Conference will be held on Saturday 12th November.

Bookings have now closed for this years Club Management conference, please contact Debbie in the BGA office should you wish to attend at this late stage.

The venue is new this year – Highgate House in Northamptonshire (just west of Pitsford Resevoir), which is run by the same people who have previously looked after us so well at Woodside.

Full details of the venue, including traveling directions are on the venue’s website.

As always, we are aiming to provide a useful, thought provoking and helpful day for you. The provisional agenda is now available.

The topics are wide-ranging and based partly on your requests and areas that we’ve been working on. Treasurers will, as usual, be looking at various financial management issues, led by Paul Jessop. The CFIs will be led by Mike Fox. The BGA CTO, Gordon MacDonald is running an update and briefing session for club technical officers and inspectors. Dave Latimer will be running the Club Management part of the conference.

As well as the important news items and update on safety we will be sharing some of the good practices and initiatives from member clubs and participation groups.

This year, for the first time, we are running a Juniors conference which will be led by the UK Junior Gliding Team. Juniors are infiltrating every aspect of British gliding, energising and inspiring the entire sport. We all know that there is a lot going on across the country, and this conference is to give time to reflect and discuss what works well, what could be improved and to consider the future possibilities. The conference is about the gliding for juniors which takes place at gliding clubs. It is for juniors who glide at gliding clubs. It is also for the non-junior aged people who support, oversee and organise the activities.

BGA volunteers, staff and members of the BGA Executive will be attending, giving you an opportunity to talk to them in person about club management matters at your club, or simply to say hello to the name behind the emails!

Bookings re now open. The booking form is available for download and should be returned to the BGA office along with payment (£20 per delegate) by 3rd November.

This year we are running workshops in the morning. Delegates who plan to stay in the main room for the day will need to select which workshop they would prefer to attend by indicating their choice on the Workshop Booking Form, whichcontains full details of the various options and emailing this to the BGA office.
