The BGA is looking to appoint a volunteer to fill the role of Treasurer when the current treasurer retires early in 2024.
The role is primarily oversight and guidance on financial matters. Day to day transactions and book-keeping are performed by BGA staff. The Treasurer’s activities include attending Executive Committee meetings (as a co-opted non-voting member), reporting periodically on financial matters, assistance with budgeting and forecasting, financial controls, and liaison with auditors at year end. Time commitment is variable but likely to be around 4-6 hours per month as a long term average. Previous experience of accounting or club/business management is not essential but would probably help.
