National Share the Skies Week – 4th to 10th August!
Let’s flood the feeds with gliding! National Share the Skies Week is all about showing more people the joy of our sport – and YOU can help! It’s super easy to take part (it takes less than 30 seconds!). It’s all about putting our amazing sport in front of as many people as possible.
National Share the Skies Week is an idea that sprang from the BGA Participation project, and is a simple way every pilot can help grow our sport – and it takes less than 30 seconds to take part.
We all know that gliding is an incredible experience – but most people still don’t know it’s something they can do. By sharing gliding content far and wide, we help raise awareness, spark curiosity, and bring new people to our clubs. It’s one of the easiest, most effective things we can all do to help keep the sport thriving.
Here’s how:
📱 See gliding content in your social feed – from clubs, friends, the BGA, gliding pages, anyone!
🔁 Share it on – in your Stories, on your wall, on your grid, as a Reel… or all of the above!
🌍 Set visibility to “Public” so more people see it.
✍️ Add a caption – invite people to visit your club’s website or gliding.co.uk to find their nearest club. Do tag as many clubs, people or gliding organisations as you can too.
💬 If you have time, share what gliding means to you!
Repeat every time you see gliding content, all week long! Let’s inspire more people to give gliding a go.
