Making good use of bad weather
Oxford Gliding Club reports that over the last three weekends they have covered an impressive amount of ground training, including:
SPL Long Theory Briefings: Winch Launching, Stalling & Spinning, Circuit, Approach and Landing, and Principles of Flight.
SPL Ground Exercises: Daily Inspections (DI), Rigging, Placard Limitations & V-speeds, and Flight Documentation.
Club Operations: LPG & Diesel Fuelling, Duty Pilot refreshers, IT, and Dyneema rope splicing.
Special Interest Sessions: Speeds to Fly, Mental Health, Field Landings & Survival Flying, and even a well received fun session on Trailer Towing!
The engagement has been well above expectations, with:
150+ SPL training entries completed.
24 different student pilots making significant progress.
50 attendees (average) per evening session, including qualified SPL holders and instructors.
