CAA publishes EC ConOps consultation response

The CAA has published its response to the consultation on the Electronic Conspicuity Technical Concept of Operations (ConOps).

The response document summarises the feedback received through the consultation, sets out the key themes raised by respondents, and explains how this feedback will be used to inform the next phase of work on the technical requirements for electronic conspicuity in the UK.

The feedback from the consultation will be used, alongside data and evidence gathered through technical testing and trials planned during 2025 and 2026, to inform a future update to the Electronic Conspicuity Technical Concept of Operations. Subject to programme dependencies, CAA currently expect a revised version of the ConOps to be published in late 2026 or early 2027.

In parallel with the ongoing technical work, the CAA is also progressing its work on the potential implementation of a UK wide Electronic Conspicuity mandate. While separate, the technical and policy elements of this work are closely linked and need to be developed in unison.

A public consultation on the implementation of a potential UK wide EC mandate is planned to launch in March 2026. This consultation will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in detail on the proposed approach to implementation, including impacts, proportionality, and timescales.
