Events

Due to prevailing COVID19 conditions, both the 2020 and 2021 Club Development Conferences have taken place online, but as a series of events rather than a one-off event. These events are free to attend, with no limit on numbers.

To reduce potential for confusion, we use the same Zoom Room for all events in the series. You will be sent the access details when you register for your free place. They are usually in the reminder emails too. If you have issues accessing, please email clubmanagement@gliding.co.uk

This series is for:

• Chairs
• Treasurers
• CFIs / deputies / coaches
• Club managers
• People who support junior development at clubs
• People who support club development at clubs

In addition to passing useful and usual information on to you such as the safety session and BGA news, the primary aim is to create ways for you to listen to other club’s experiences and to network & share information.

The remaining events in the series are the Monday Club Development Sessions (7.30-8.30pm) which go on throughout the year, although we don’t meet on Bank Holidays.

The format has evolved over the last year and are usually comprised of:

• 5 or so minutes of a mini-presentation, context setting or question posing
• 50-55 minutes of facilitated discussion

Mainly it is people from clubs asking questions of one another. Sometimes we have specific topics or presentations from people. There are three types of regular sessions:

• 2^nd Monday Club Financial Health
• 3^rd Monday General session – no pre-determined topic
• Last Monday 90mins often with a guest speaker, taking a deeper dive into a topic

We regularly email people who have registered with updates, including reminders about sessions and the access details.
