Managing Flying Risk – Currency barometer

In addition to any licence recency requirements, all pilots should think about their currency in light of the conditions on the day. The ‘Pilot Currency Barometer’ is a helpful tool.

Pilots who are flying passengers and instructors are reminded that the ’90-day rule’ is an important consideration, ie. in order to carry passengers, you must have completed within the previous 90 days, three take-offs and landings as sole manipulator of the controls in the same type or class used for the flight, eg a glider, or a TMG, or a single engine aeroplane.
