BGA Policies
The BGA supports a safe, open and inclusive culture where poor practice is consistently challenged and deliberate attempts to cause harm are not tolerated, and where safeguarding, safety and well-being are prioritised.
These policies support that approach where engaged with BGA activity including as a participant, volunteer, employee or contractor.

Child Protection policy
The BGA recognizes that we have a duty of care towards young and vulnerable participants and can help to protect them from abuse. Every adult has a legal and moral responsibility to protect young people participating in our sport from abuse.

Our equity and equal opportunities policy has been produced to prevent any potential discrimination or other unfair treatment, whether intentional or unintentional, direct or indirect, against its employees, contractors, volunteers and those participating in BGA controlled activity.

Our inappropriate or discriminatory conduct policy has been produced to prevent inappropriate or discriminatory conduct, direct or indirect, against its employees, contractors, volunteers and those participating in BGA controlled activity.

Whistleblowing policy
Whistleblowing is reporting certain types of wrongdoing. In a gliding context, this will usually be something seen in the course of participating in BGA activity that affects others. The wrongdoing that is disclosed must be in the wider interest. Anyone can make a whistleblowing report.

Inclusive language
Inclusive language is vocabulary that we can include into our everyday thoughts and conversations, and when writing documents or policies. The aim of inclusive language is to honour and respect everyone’s experiences, values, and individuality. The BGA strives to use inclusive language in newly published and updated BGA communications.
