Call for pilot input to the Competitions Committee
The competitions committee considers rule changes for the coming season in October and November each year. If you took part in a rated competition in 2026, we would very much like to hear your ideas for improvement to the rule book.
Since we started this consultation process in 2023 we have considered over 120 suggestions. We already have a few to look at this Autumn but would like more. Last year we reported on the topics we covered in a document that was published on the BGA website alongside the rules.
Unless there is new evidence to support changes, we would rather not go over old ground!
That having been said, we would be grateful if you would raise any issues that you see within the existing rule book and propose solutions that we can consider within the timeframe above. Please email compscommittee@gliding.co.uk with your thoughts putting the word ‘Rules’ in the subject line.
We have also launched a formal consultation on three important topics: data to the cockpit, cloud flying, and team selection. We would be grateful if you would take 5 minutes to give us your views on these subjects by completing a questionnaire to be found here.
