Data Protection

There has always been a requirement to protect personal data but the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on 25th May 2018 in the UK, as the Data Protection Act 2018, includes some significant new requirements.  A useful introduction to these for anyone dealing with GDPR at their club is available in this BBC interview with the deputy head of the Information Commission Office (ICO).

A good general overview of GDPR for organisations is available from the  ICO and the guidance below signpost clubs to the specific GDPR & data protection resources provided by the ICO and the Sport & Recreation Alliance.
