Strubby goes Silver!
Strubby is a challenging site for gaining the stages of the silver C – long flights are only possible in summer, and there is always the threat of the sea breeze shutting down the thermals.
Still, it can be done, as proven this summer by Paul Kerman who first flew his glider to Trent Valley GC gaining his distance stage in June; then at the end of July stayed aloft for 5 hours to gain (subject to verification) the last part he needed for the silver, making him the first Strubby pilot in about 15 years to achieve this feat.
Congratulations on demonstrating that in gliding persistence pays off.
