Saltby Open Aerobatics Competition
Basic Aerobatics are very accessible in gliding and are not just about loops and wing overs; it’s also about mastering the art of controlled flight and pushing the boundaries of your piloting capabilities. Training for and participating in aerobatic competitions enhances your piloting skills, improves your confidence, and connects you with a vibrant community of like-minded aviators.
The Saltby Open aerobatic competition takes place from the 12th to 14th July. Held at Saltby Airfield in Lincolnshire, the competition will feature a range of categories, from beginners to advanced pilots, ensuring that everyone has a chance to shine.

How to Enter
To participate in aerobatic competitions, pilots must be a member of the British Aerobatics Association (BAeA), hold a Gliding Certificate, have completed aerobatic training, and undertake a flight evaluation with a BAeA assessor.
Entering the Saltby Open is straightforward. Visit the British Aerobatics Association’s website to register. The registration process includes submitting your pilot credentials and a nominal entry fee. Early registration is encouraged, as it allows you to secure your spot and prepare adequately for the competition.
