Northumbria Gliding club has been based at Currock Hill airfield since 1962 and flies on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays. The club is an accredited junior gliding centre with a successful cadet scheme.

The club is run solely by the voluntary efforts of the membership, ensuring a friendly club atmosphere and reasonable prices.

We operate a fleet of three Puchacz training gliders, one Astir CS77 and a Venture motorglider. We launch by aerotow using our two EuroFox tugs.

Whether you want to learn to fly or just looking for a one time thrill we have something to offer you.

We offer trial lessons all year round and during the summer months we can accommodate larger groups of people who want to try gliding. Perfect for groups of friends or work colleagues for a day out with a difference.
