Welcome to Stratford on Avon Gliding Club.

It’s a friendly club, dedicated to providing gliding for all. You’ll find us 2 miles north of Stratford town centre, on the edge of the Cotswolds, and we’re open at weekends and two days midweek in summer.  

We cater for beginners and experts alike. Whether you want to learn to glide or develop your skills, we can help. We offer trial lessons, one-day, or five-day courses for visitors, and ongoing pilot training for club members — all delivered by our team of over 20 BGA instructors. We also have an active programme of course weeks and club weeks during the year when we open seven days a week.

We have an excellent fleet of two-seat gliders for training, single-seaters for solo pilots, and a motor glider.

The club is an ideal place to learn to glide. We offer affordable membership for junior members and, as a community-run club, flying costs are kept to a minimum. When not flying, members participate by driving the winch, mowing the grass, maintaining the vehicles or if qualified, delivering flying instruction. Everyone joins in. For us, gliding is a team sport in a sociable atmosphere.
