General Aviation (Persons on Board, Flight Information and Civil Penalties) Regulations 2024

Cross-channel gliding flights are incredibly rare. The Home Office has asked us to report that the UK government is introducing regulations that will require information about international GA flights and persons on board to be submitted online in advance of departure for aircraft expecting to arrive or depart the UK.

From the 6th April 2024, advance passenger information for all persons on board and information about the international flight is to be provided no earlier than 48 hours and no later than 2 hours prior to the aircraft’s expected departure to or from the UK. Information about the flight and those on board can be provided using the sGAR portal, approved third-party apps (that will be listed on gov.uk) or via direct system to systems connection.
